How compatibility actually works
Most "love calculator" apps tell you a percentage and call it a day. That's not how astrology — Western or Chinese — actually reads relationships.
Western synastry looks at how your planets aspect (touch) the other person's. Trine and sextile aspects feel easy; square and opposition aspects feel charged but generative. There's no "good" or "bad" — only different textures.
BaZi compatibility looks at the five-element interaction. Each person's day master has an element (wood, fire, earth, metal, water). Some pairings feed (生 sheng) — wood feeds fire, fire feeds earth. Some pairings clash (克 ke) — wood breaks earth, earth dams water. Both feeding and clashing relationships can thrive; they just feel different.
The I Ching doesn't do compatibility per se — but you can cast a hexagram for the relationship itself, asking, "what is this between us?" The hexagram names the situation you're in together.
Why 三家合一 matters for relationships
Western alone tells you the geometry of attraction — what pulls and what pushes. BaZi alone tells you the elemental fit — whether your fundamental natures feed or challenge each other. The I Ching alone names the archetype of the bond.
Read together, you get a fuller picture: the geometry, the ecology, AND the archetype. A hard Western aspect with a feeding BaZi cycle says different things than a soft Western aspect with a clashing BaZi cycle. Cosmica reads them all at once.
