No exact birth time
You can still get a useful reading without exact birth time.
Exact birth time improves specificity, but it is not the gate to every useful insight. Cosmica separates what is reliable from what should be treated as approximate across Western astrology, BaZi, and the I Ching.
What stays reliable, what becomes approximate
| System | Still useful | Treat carefully |
|---|---|---|
| Western astrology | Sun sign, most planetary signs, many aspects, broad natal patterns. | Rising sign, house cusps, angles, and sometimes Moon sign if born near a Moon change. |
| BaZi | Year, month, day pillars, day master, seasonal strength, broad element balance. | Hour pillar, some ten-god detail, and parts of timing interpretation. |
| I Ching | Date-based patterning and reflective hexagram work. | Hour-sensitive plum-blossom calculations if exact birth hour is missing. |
Western astrology
Without time, Cosmica avoids overclaiming houses and angles. It can still read planets by sign, many aspects, and the broad natal pattern.
BaZi
The day master remains central. Missing time mainly affects the hour pillar, so Cosmica treats hour-sensitive details as open rather than pretending certainty.
I Ching
Date-based reflection is still possible. If the exact hour is missing, any hour-derived hexagram should be read as symbolic exploration, not a fixed result.
Start now. Refine later.
Use the date, city, and closest time you know. If you later find a birth certificate or family record, recompute the chart and compare what changed.
