丁 Yin Fire

丁 (Yin Fire) is the fourth Heavenly Stem. Classical commentary describes it as 灯烛之火 — lamp fire, candle fire, hearth fire. Where Yang Fire is visible across a valley, Yin Fire warms the room you are in. Yin Fire is the dinner across from someone you love. Yin Fire is the lamp on the writing desk at 11 pm.

If your Day Master is 丁, the soul gesture is intimate illumination. The work you do is rarely visible to crowds, but the people inside its range feel known. The shadow is fragility — being extinguished by the wrong word at the wrong moment, burning out from the inside while pretending everything is fine.
